Type M Copper pipe is used as a water supply line in all type of buildings (Residential, Commercial and Industrial).
It is also used a superior choice for industrial air line as it reduces the possibilities of pipe's rust (like steel pipe) to travel within in the air pipe system.
Not suitable to be used underground.
O.D. is normally 1/8" thicker than the pipe size as the wall is 1/16" thick. (i.e. 1/2" pipe O.D. is 5/8")
Use a 1/8" larger size for Compression Fittings. E.g. 1/2" copper pipe will use a 5/8" Compression Fittings

DWV stands for Drain, Waste and Vent. It is used as a drainage pipe for older home and commercial/Industrial drainage line.
It has the thinnest wall and cheaper than other type of Copper Pipes
Not suitable to be used underground.

Unlike Copper Pipe, copper tubing outside diameter (O.D.) is the same as the pipe size. So 1/2" Copper tubing's O.D. is measured to be 1/2"
Use the same size as Compression fittings
5/8" and above are special order.
